The Wedding Outfit

wut is it? The big hit outfit I wore to my dad’s wedding in May. I do not exaggerate, I think every person came up to me at the cocktail hour and said something, it felt good… real good.

We were told the wedding party was going to wear black, so when I went shopping in April for my outfit, it was not an easy task to find a great black outfit in spring. But I had my dream team, Ashley Palluci, Simon Dan Sirixay, and Sharon Gold on speed dial. We were at Barneys and I tried on many dresses that were beautiful, but something wasn’t clicking. The last piece I had to try on was a jumpsuit and I was about to back out. I checked the label and saw Celine… yeah there was no way I could pass that up. The jumpsuit factor made me weary, was it appropriate for the wedding?

The moment I put it on I knew… It fit like a glove, I walked out and Ashley and Simon gasped, this was it, it was the one.

Kane Fall’12

wut is it? The Christopher Kane fall collection I am seriously crushing on. I did not love his Spring’12 collection, it lacked the creative Kane touch. For someone who is known to be bold with his prints, and considering this past spring was huge for them, I was surprised to see muted florals, and so much pastel.

But the Fall collection has the edgy, daring style I fell in love with him for. He created interesting angles, played with textured fabrics and looking at this line inspires me to change the way I dress… that is how I can tell a good line from a truly great one.

From Day to Point

wut is it? My new-found love for the classic pointed toe shoe. A great pointed toe pump will take you flawlessly from a day at the office to a night out for dinner or drinks. I still love me a good chunky wedge, but these sleek pointed heals take up less space in your bag.

These are looks I shot on my roof of day outfits that can be dressed up by a great pointed toe. I am predicting a come back of the pointed toe this fall…
